SOUTH WEST WESTERN, N. J. (AP) —A New Jersey woman has been arrested for allegedly importing and selling counterfeit Viagra.
Laura Riek, 60, of Middleborough, was charged with one count of trafficking in counterfeit goods and one count of trafficking in counterfeit goods, U. S. Attorney Charles K. Guay of the Eastern District of New York, and U. Postal Inspector Richard M. Diller of the District of New York, announced the Justice Department's investigation into the case.
Riek was arrested after investigators discovered the packaging and packaging materials in her apartment.
The woman was arrested in Brooklyn in a separate operation.
Investigators found the drugs were not counterfeit. Riek was scheduled to be arraigned on Tuesday, February 21, at 9:10 a.m. in New York federal court.
